LAHORE: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said the threats of martial law are unconstitutional and added that the days of invoking martial law are over now۔

In an interview with DW Urdu, Imran Khan termed threats of imposition of martial law in Pakistan unconstitutional.

Khan said that if the Supreme Court’s decision is not accepted, it means that the law in Pakistan is over and we are moving toward the law of the jungle۔

The PTI chairman said that if the elected government did not have the authority and that authority was elsewhere then no administrative system could work.

Khan said that the economy would not be able to recover without political stability through elections. The ruling coalition was seeing their defeat in elections.

PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan also added that Pakistan would have to undergo surgery to recover and ‘big’ decisions are the need of the hour. “The mandate for ‘big’ decisions will only come through elections.”

Earlier on Tuesday evening, the former premier said that the Sharif family would not accept an independent judiciary.

While addressing PTI workers and supporters via video link, Khan said that the rulers think that PTI would be weakened by October and later they will go for elections. He added that PTI would never weaken in October.
